Coco-Cola Europacific Partners is taking the precautionary step of recalling a small number of their soft drinks range because they may contain elevated levels of Chlorate. This products are recalled in England, Scotland and WalesThis product may contain elevated chlorate levels, posing a low food safety risk for most consumers. However, sensitive individuals, including young children and those with thyroid, blood, or kidney conditions, may experience adverse effects. Long-term consumption can inhibit iodine uptake, potentially causing goitre, while a single high intake may impair oxygen absorption and, in severe cases, lead to kidney failure.

Only cans with production codes 328 GE to 338 GE are affected. Standard dimension cans, all glass and plastic bottles sold in the UK are not impacted.
