Food Safety Report: France South West Yellow Chicken with Red Label recalled due to Listeria

8 months ago source rappel.conso.gouv.fr

Recall notice

France

A massive recall of whole chickens has been initiated in France due to fears of Listeria contamination. The recall involves the 'Sud Ouest' brand of 'Poulet Jaune Label Rouge' and was being distributed across the entire country.

The specific products under recall include three batches of 'Poulet Jaune Label Rouge Sud Ouest' with the GTIN numbers 3283440525242 and 3283440344287, all from Lot 2074055327. The products have best before dates of 31/01/2024 and 01/02/2024. The chickens were sold between 25/01/2024 and 01/02/2024 and are marked with the salubrity mark FR 33 036 001 ce. The products were distributed by Intermarche, Carnivor, and Ets Badets Volailles.

The recall was initiated after the detection of Listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria responsible for causing listeriosis. The risk was further described as due to the product's best before date being exceeded. The recall notice was published on 16/02/2024.

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
