Loughpark Farm Raw Milk recalled due to E. coli

Loughpark Farms is recalling a batch of its Raw Milk due to the potential presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). The product has been distributed across Ireland.The issue was discovered during routine testing, which revealed the possible presence of STEC. This specific group of E. coli can produce a powerful toxin that can cause severe illness, including abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, and in some cases, a complication called haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS), which can lead to kidney failure.
The product in question is:
- Loughpark Farm Raw Milk
- Sold in 1-litre packs.
- The batch code is 200525
- It has an expiry date of May 26, 2025.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at the point of sale. Consumers are advised not to drink the implicated batch and are also advised to return it to where they purchased it.
