The FSAI announced the recall of certain Lucky Me! Instant Pancit Canton Noodles due to the presence of the unauthorized pesticide ethylene oxide. This pesticide is not authorized for use in foods sold in the EU.The recalled products are:
- Lucky Me! Instant Pancit Canton Noodles Original Flavour; pack size: 60g, Best before date: 10/11/2022, 23/11/2022, 14/07/2022, 29/07/2022.
- Lucky Me! Instant Pancit Canton Noodles Hot Chilli Flavour; pack size: 60g, Best before date: 19/07/2022, 11/11/2022.
- Lucky Me! Instant Pancit Canton Noodles Kalamansi Flavour; pack size: 60g, Best before date: 19/07/2022, 20/07/2022, 21/07/2022, 03/11/2022, 23/11/2022, 27/11/2022.
- Lucky Me! Instant Pancit Canton Noodles Chilimansi Flavour; pack size: 60g, Best before date: 19/07/2022, 20/07/2022, 10/11/2022.
- Lucky Me! Beef Mami Instant Noodles soup; pack size: 55g, Best before date: 12/07/2022, 13/07/2022, 05/08/2022, 02/11/2022.
Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there may be health issues if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to this substance needs to be minimized. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
