Niemuth's Steak and Chop Shop is recalling its ground beef sold by their meat counter from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, 2023, due to a potential E. coli (STEC) O103 contamination. At this time, no related illnesses have been reported.The affected product is the shop's in-house ground beef, sold either paper or plastic-wrapped between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, 2023.
The recall was prompted by routine sampling conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection's Bureau of Meat and Poultry Businesses (BMPB), which detected STEC 0103 in the ground beef during laboratory analysis.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged to not consume it.
