The New York's Department of Agriculture and Markets announced a recall of 450 gr packages of "Odil Dried Fruits & Beans" brand dried apricots by Delicious Food Distributors Inc. because they contained undeclared sulfites. These products were distributed throughout New York City in retail stores. No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

The "Odil Dried Fruits & Beans" brand dried apricots come in a 450 gr clear plastic package marked with "Product 2020" on the front label. The product UPC code is 4780089480028.

Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. Analysis of the "Odil Dried Fruits & Beans" brand dried apricots revealed it contained 56.7 milligrams per serving. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics.
