Over The Moon Dairy is recalling several cheese products in Waikato, New Zealand, due to safety concerns after they were taken from the Putaruru Landfill and resold in the Waikato town on Sunday. The products were initially disposed of as unsuitable for sale. It was not refrigerated and is not safe to eat. It is possible that sales of these affected cheeses occurred in other areas.AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
The affected cheeses have the batch numbers 18.11.25, 25.11.25, and 26.11.25. They include:
- Camembert
- OMG
- Black Truffle Brie
- Galactic Gold
- Halloumi
- Gee's Spread (Black Truffle & Garlic Chilli flavours)
- Smoked Chilli Camembert
- Goat Camembert
- Double Delight
The issue was reported to New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) by Over The Moon Dairy. The recall was initiated after the discovery that the cheese was being resold despite being deemed unsafe.
