Simply Fresh LLC. is voluntarily recalling its Rojo’s Black Bean 6 Layer Dip 2-20oz Club Pack. This voluntary recall is being initiated as a result of the Rizo Lopez Foods Inc. recall of cotija cheese due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The product is sold only at Costco. in the USA

Simply Fresh used the recalled cotija cheese from Rizo Lopez Foods, Inc. in the Rojos Black Bean Layer Dips with the date codes listed in the table below. This recall only impacts the items pictured below.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

HOW TO IDENTIFY THE RECALLED PRODUCT: The 2/20oz container has the “Best If Use By” dates stated below printed on the side of each container and the lot number stated for each product on the side of the lid (see attached pictures). This voluntary recall applies only to the products with the “Best If Use By” dates stated below.
