Food Safety Report: Sandwich Cha Sue Banh Mi recalled due to undeclared Allergens

1 month ago source quebec.ca

Recall notice

7209 Boulevard Taschereau, Brossard, J4Y Québec, Canada

Kim Phat, an Asian market in Brossard, has issued a recall for its Cha Sue sandwich due to the undeclared presence of soy and shellfish. The recall was initiated as a precautionary measure for consumers with soy or shrimp allergies. The issue was discovered following a reported case of an allergic reaction associated with the consumption of the sandwich. The company is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) to ensure the product is removed from the market. The recall only affects individuals with a soy or shrimp allergy.

The product in question is:
- "Cha Sue Sandwich Banh Mi".
- It is sold as a single unit
- Packaged in a plastic bag and refrigerated.

All lots are included in the recall, specifically those where the label does not mention the presence of the allergens.
The product was only available for purchase at the Kim Phat market located at 7209, boulevard Taschereau, in Brossard.

If you have this product at home, do not consume it and return it to the store where it was purchased.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
