Recall notice

Seafood delight frozen catfish products imported from India - recalled due to Ineligible country of import

3 years ago source fsis.usda.gov

United States

The FSIS announced a recall of approximately 2,961 pounds of imported frozen Siluriformes (catfish) products from Delight Foods USA LLC, a distributor and the Importer of Record located in Jersey City, NJ, and Delight Foods LLC, a distributor and the Importer of Record located in San Jose, CA, because the products were imported from India, a country ineligible to export Siluriformes products to the United States. These products were shipped to retail locations nationwide in the USA. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.

The affected product is:
- 908 gm (2 lb.) plastic packages containing “Seafood delight FRESH FROZEN CATFISH STEAK IF” frozen fish. The products do not bear an establishment number nor a USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activity of imported products. India is not eligible to export Siluriformes products to the United States.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. FSIS is conducting recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms are notifying their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
