Tulip Turkey Bacon recalled due to Salmonella

7 months ago source mynewsdesk.com

Recall notice

Sweden

Danish Crown A/S, a leading meat processing company, has issued a recall for its Tulip Turkey Bacon due to potential salmonella contamination. The product was distributed across various retail outlets. The recall was initiated after salmonella was detected in a sample from the company's raw material supplier on a routine testing, prompting the company to take immediate action to ensure consumer safety.

The recall specifically involves the 110 grams Tulip Turkey Bacon, bearing the EAN number 5707196171938. The product was produced on March 26, 2024, and has a best before date of April 30, 2024.

Consumers are advised to either return the product to the store where it was purchased or discard it.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
