Recall notice

Uncle’s Smallgoods Sliced ham sold at IGA - recalled due to Listeria contamination

4 years ago source foodstandards.gov.au

Victoria, Australia

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) agency announced the recall of sliced ham by Uncle's Smallgoods due to microbial contamination (Listeria monocytogenes), which can cause illness if consumed. The product has been available for sale at independent and specialty grocery stores, butchers, and IGAs in Victoria.

Listeria monocytogenes may cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with low immune systems.

- Uncle’s Ham Free Range (150g). Best Before: 23 MAR 22

Consumers should not eat this product. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

In case you are experiencing listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
