Warning of Raw Milk due to Bird Flu

1 year ago source cdph.ca.gov

California, United States

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued a warning against consuming a specific batch of raw milk from Raw Farm, LLC due to the detection of bird flu virus. The company, based in Fresno County, has voluntarily recalled the affected product. The bird flu virus was detected in a retail sample of the raw milk during routine testing by the County of Santa Clara Public Health Laboratory. The findings were later confirmed by the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory System.

The product in question is:
- The cream top, whole raw milk
- With the lot code 20241109
- Best By date of 11/27/2024.

Consumers are advised to not consume the product and to return any remaining product to the store where it was purchased.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enable better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
