I was flying from Las Vegas to Toronto on Nov 2 2022. Flight number AC1700. I purchased Air Canada’s Mac and Cheese. It wasn’t very good but I didn’t think of it as tasting “off” per se. The flight came in extremely late, and Air Canada had very limited meal options. It makes me think the food may have been sitting out from the last flight and reheated. It was very hot, but served in a cardboard container.We landed approximately 4 hours late, and approx 10 hours after I ate the food I started feeling severe stomach cramps and I had strange acid reflux with a strange metallic taste in my mouth that woke me up. This lasted about 2 hours until I got up to drink some water and then had the urge to vomit. I threw up a couple of times, very violently, dry heaving, apparently with nothing in my stomach (I didn’t eat anything after the Mac and cheese). I then developed an extremely high fever of 39.5 C (103F) degrees. I attempted to sleep but had the cold sweats and chills, body aches and extreme stomach pain. Then I had bad diarrhea in the morning. Tylenol and Advil didn’t do much to relieve the pain or fever. I laid around trying to stomach water and Gatorade for 24 hours. Complete agony. Finally I woke up soaked in sweat and about 30 hours later most of my major symptoms are gone. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Stomach Pain, Body Ache, Gas, Acid reflux, Sweating
