Family Trip: 3 Sick, Hospitalized - Hotel, Puerto Vallarta Jalisco

My family of 13 travelled to the Barcelo PVR to celebrate my 50th Birthday. My 80 year old father got sick on Day 3, Day 4 my 17 year old son got sick and Day 5 my 20 year old son got sick. My father recovered in the room, but my two sons illness got more extreme. We called the hotel doctor and he came up to see them (at a charge of $298 USD) For the record, my sons were not drinking or partying at all. This was a family trip. My sons continued to get worse, so bad that that hotel doctor said both of my children needed to be hospitalized. They sent me to the hospital in a cab with both of my terrible sick children, throwing up the entire way. We got to emergency and they were treated with IV fluids, Nausea meds and Antibiotics for what as assumed to be food born bacteria infection. Both my children were admitted for the night, where I slept in the hotel back and forth between their beds. The cost of the Hospital was $20,000.00 USD for the 2 boys. We have insurance that i am praying handles the entire bill, but we still have the hotel doctor expenses, medications etc. To make matters worse, the hospital discharged my children 4 hours before our flight as I was adamant I wanted them back home to Canada. My kids still barely well and I raced back to the hotel to reunite with the rest of our family and back the boys suit cases, only to enter their room and find out they were robbed while at the hospital. Clothes, Cologne, head phones and cash. This is beyond upsetting and traumatic to my entire family. DO NOT go to this hotel. I will not use this platform to share the rest of the terrible service we received. But please read this and protect your family from a similar situation. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Headache
