Bagel Discomfort, Drive-Thru Drama - Einstein Bros, Austin Texas

6 years ago reported by user-nxrrp469 business

Einstein Bros. Bagels, 6611 S MoPac Expy, Austin, TX 78749, USA

6611 South MoPac Expressway, Austin, 78749 Texas, United States

I've eaten at this location at least 50 times in the past 10 years and never had an issue before. But yesterday either there was an issue with the food or the cashier tampered with my food. The cashier was flustered when he took my payment because I gave him $22.72 for a $7.32 charge (he assumed that the extra $2 was a tip); however, I informed him that I wanted $15 back ... which was logical to me since I had 6x$1 bills but I didn't have 7x$1, so I was merely trying to prevent myself from getting too many extra $1 bills. In either case, within an hour or so after eating the cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and 3 smearfuls, I started feeling sick and had diarrhea that has lasted off and on for over 12 hours. My last meal prior to the bagel was 5 hours before and I haven't had anything to eat since getting sick, though as soon as I feel well enough to leave the house I'll get some BRAT ingredients. Suffice to say, I will never go back to that Einstein Bagels location ... and likely it will be a long time before I go to any bagel shop. **Besides, when did fast-food drive-thru clerks start expecting tips for handing food from one person to the next? None of the other fast-food restaurants in the area have Tip Jars in the drive-thru window ... just sayin' | Symptoms: Diarrhea
