On the third day of our trip, 5 out of 7 of our group came down with identical symptoms: throbbing headache, body aches, fever/chills, stomach cramps, and very frequent diarrhea. 2 people’s symptoms became so severe they were taken to a hospital in an ambulance. It has been three days since symptoms began, but even the Dominican doctors have been unable to diagnose the exact source (i.e. viral, bacterial, food poisoning). We have spoken to many other guests at the who are experiencing the exact same symptoms. Travelers beware: stay away from there | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Cramps, Headache, Chills, Body Ache

Did anyone figure out what it was? My husband had it 12/12-12-16 I had the dr doctor come mid week and he started taking paramox?
Also our friend was hospitalized when we got home for 4 days and diagnosed with salmonella
While we never were able to get a definitive answer about what caused the infection, my guess is it was salmonella from food contamination at the resort. All of the symptoms matched identically
