My family of 4 vacationed at the Hard Rock 6/3-6/10/2019. On the last night 6/9 we ate at the Toro restaurant, by the time we finished dessert my stomach felt upset so I went to the restroom. I became violently ill with stomach cramps, vomiting, sweating profusel (probably fever) weakenss and loose bowels but no diarrhea. My family came to check on me, and I was so ill I couldn't leave the restaurant for over an hour. The staff kept checking on me through my husband and daughters who were with me, and arranged for a private cart to transport me back to my room. My husband and the driver had to help me walk through the restaurant, and to my room. I barely made it to my room before the vomiting began again. This lasted for several hours, but finally slowly subsided. Guest services, and someone from medical kept checking on me, offered medical services, and asked if I needed to go to the hospital, but by then my symptoms were improving. The staff was very attentive and concerned, and followed up again the next morning. I’ve never experienced anything like this! Thankfully my husband, and 2 older daughters did not get ill…yet. I’ve read other posts that some people became sick after returning home. I pray they don’t and that I don’t have any residual health issues from this! My family all had steaks, and 3 of us had salads, I was the only one who had Salmon at the Toro restaurant. Sadly THIS experience along with the off-property fires for “trash burns” that filtered smoke into our room 2 of our 7 nights, will keep us from returning not only to the Hard Rock, but the Dominican Republic. Beautiful property, beach, and ocean…just not worth the risks. | Symptoms: Fever, Vomiting, Cramps, Weakness, Sweating, Diarrhea
