Cereal Illness: Shared Symptoms - Lucky Charms, Altamonte Springs Florida

My husband purchased a box of Lucky Charms cereal for himself. He ate a bowl of it the other evening before bed and the next morning he said he was putting it in the kitchen for anyone who wanted it because he up in the middle of the night with a severe bout of diarrhea. We assumed it was because of him being diabetic and he's not supposed to eat, and usually avoids, high carbohydrate and sugar foods. Last night, after a long day at work and a day of deciding it was going to be a leftovers for dinner night, I felt a bit nostalgic and said hey let me have a bowl of cereal. I ate said bowl around 7:00 p.m.. At around midnight I woke up with sharp stomach cramps. About 30 to 45 minutes later I started to have diarrhea which was constant for about an hour. I probably could have handled it had I not felt hot and nauseous at the same time. Got back to bed about 1:30 a.m. only to get nauseous and feel like I needed to go to the bathroom again maybe 10 minutes later. I grabbed the vomit bucket just in case and it's a good thing I did because that time it was coming out both ends. The pain was so bad I contemplated calling an ambulance but didn't want to overreact. As soon as I looked up whether Lucky Charms could have been the reason my husband and I got sick I found out about all the complaints going back years. I am not sure what is in it that is causing it, other than all the chemicals I'm sure, but it'd be nice if it was pulled off the shelf if it is actually making people ill. We will obviously be throwing this away and never purchasing again. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills, Headache
