Green Egg McMuffin Illness - McDonald's, Davenport Iowa

5 years ago reported by user-cfqy3317 business

McDonald's, East Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA, USA

1733 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, 52807 Iowa, United States

I waited 45 minutes on Saturday, March 30th for a Sausage and Egg McMuffin. There is no way to get out of the drive through lanes at this McDonald's. I asked what was happening and the guy who took my money said "We are busy" and that was it. I got my sandwich and tried to eat it. The bun was hard as a rock. Not chewable at all & not frozen. So decided to just eat the sausage and egg. I took 3 bites and noticed the egg was very dry. I looked at it and saw it was "green". This was a nightmare. I had nausea, vomiting and severe diarrhea by Saturday night. It continued through Sunday and Monday. I collapsed trying to take a shower. I went to the ER and was there 6 hours on 2 IVs. My Potassium had fallen to 2.8 and I was having heart flutterings. The doctor was sure it was food poisoning. She sent in a stool sample and I just got the results today. It is Norovirus GI. Someone serving food there did not wash their hands. It is so very upsetting. Google shows Norovirus can last up to 3 weeks on surfaces and clothes & is highly contagious. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting
