Persistent GI Issues Post-Vacation - Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort, Punta Cana La Altagracia

On my last day of a week vacation, I developed stomach cramps and diarreah. I’ve been back in NY for 3 weeks and I still have a stomach ache and diarreah. I was given antibiotics but it didn’t help. Stool sample was negative for all the usual baddies, like ecoli or parasites. A dr./Friend suggested testing for pathogens common in DR, not the ones here. It’s another 3 week wait to see a gastroenterologist. I’ve been on the BRAT diet for 3 weeks. (Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). If I deviate, it’s instant diarreah. But on the diet, I can go 2-3 days with no bowel movement. But when I go again, it’s back to diarreah. My husband is fine. It was our 3rd time at the resort. First 2, no problems. But we commented that the food was always room temperature when it was served. Nothing we had, was hot. From the pancakes to any dinner. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Cramps, Gas, Stomach Pain
