Family Trip Illness Woes - Lay's, Playa del Carmen Quintana Roo

1 week ago reported by user-ddrw5625 business

Sandos Caracol Eco Resort, Cancun - Chetumal, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico

km 295 Cancun - Chetumal, Playa del Carmen, 77710 Quintana Roo, Mexico

We arrived on January 15, 2026 around 10 PM. We are a family of 2 adults and 6 children aged between 3 and 16 years old. On January 16 around midnight, I started vomiting. I would vomit for the next 24 hours with fever, chills, headache. Subsequently, the children had episodes of diarrhea, vomiting, headaches and fever in turn. Several areas of the complex in the stools/sewers. It is difficult to know if the water offered to us is safe, as these are refillable bottles. Not only were we poisoned, but the complex itself leaves much to be desired. The sanitary facilities are outdated, sometimes out of order. The activity schedules are unreliable and we had to modify our plans several times, causing considerable time losses. Let's also talk about the "kid club". It is completely unsanitary and dangerous for children. I made a video to support my statements, but I cannot upload it. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache
