Undercooked Burger Illness - Shake Shack, Washington District of Columbia

Tuesday May 12, 2026 approximately 3:45pm. Order single cheeseburger plain. When order arrived I took two bites - it tasted undercooked, and the inside was mostly pink. I took the remaining burger to front counter and showed staff who said "that's normal - we cook them that way. If you want it well done you have to order it well done." Me: Yes, that works for steaks but not ground beef. I got the store manager and showed them. Store manager showed no concern. Woke up in the middle of the night with a gassy, painful, crampy gut, and diarrhea and a headache. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Headache, Gas
