Iced Mocha Illness Alert - Starbucks, Honolulu Hawaii
2 months ago •reported by user-xtzhj352 • business
7192 Kalanianaʻole Highway, Honolulu, 96825 Hawaii, United States
I purchased a white chocolate iced mocha and a banana bread from this location around 6:00 AM today. I've had this for same drink before at other locations (typically once every 1–3 weeks) and have never experienced any issues till going here. Within 1-3 hours after consuming only these items, I developed severe stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, and nausea. I do not have any known food allergies or sensitivities, and I have not had similar reactions to dairy products from other locations. Once I became ill and the contents were out of my system, my symptoms improved significantly. Based on the timing, severity of the reaction, and the fact that once it was out I felt better, I am concerned that the dairy used may have been improperly stored or expired, potentially leading to food poisoning. Or pre-formed toxins in the food. I also noticed that the staff appeared very busy and possibly overworked, which may have contributed to an oversight in food handling or storage. I would appreciate this being looked into promptly, as well as a refund for the items purchased. Please let me know what steps will be taken to address this issue and prevent it from happening to others. The Starbucks was located at: Starbucks Coffee Company 7192 Kalanianaʻole Hwy Honolulu, HI 96825. I went to the Starbucks at 7192 Kalaniana'ole Hwy. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills
