First Date Chowder Illness - The StillHouse Moira, Craigavon Northern Ireland

3 years ago reported by user-kkdx4585 business

The StillHouse Moira, Main Street, Moira, Craigavon, UK

61 Main Street, Craigavon, BT67 0LQ Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

I went there to meet my date for the first time. I ordered the seafood chowder as starter, he ordered the onion tart. We share my chowder. Very quickly, even before my main was served I began to feel off. My appetite desserted me. I could not eat my main. Nor stomach my irish coffee. Upon getting home, I became very unwell with vomiting and diarrhea. I was up all night. The following morning my date texted to say he had been sick as a dog with diarrhea too and that he blamed the chowder. Very very disappointed and I feel bad that my date tried to ensure we had a lovely evening and it's ended with both of us being ill. I'm also worried they may have given the chowder to others or even reheated it today. The restaurant was called. An apology was given. My phone number and details taken. I was told the chef would be questioned and that someone would get back to me. Since this is a bad incident I expected this to be done quickly. Nothing has happened so far, so I've informed the Environment Health and Food Safety. They responded very quickly and have contacted them. We have been advised to get medical samples taken. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting
