On Friday at lunchtime, 1pm, we stopped at Torchy's and got Chip + Queso, the monthly special a Shrimp and bacon, a trailer park taco, a republican taco and we shared them between the two of us. That night was fine around 12pm the next day we bother felt weird started to get dizzy and have fevers. Over the course of the next 4 days we have had fevers, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea. Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare instances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.
Due to the 11/8/2023 recall of fresh, whole cantaloupes by Sophia Foods, LLC (DBA Trufresh) of Nogales, AZ, in response to a notification by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency of a potential contamination with Salmonella, Vinyard Fruit and Vegetable Company is issuing this recall. Cantaloupes recalled by Sophia Foods LLC were used as a raw material in Vinyard cantaloupe products listed below.
