Pizza Sausage Illness - Walmart, Erie Pennsylvania

3 years ago reported by user-bqgbx584 business

Walmart Supercenter, Downs Drive, Erie, PA, USA

1825 Downs Drive, Erie, 16509 Pennsylvania, United States

My husband and I got sick after eating, One week ago, my husband and I ate a Digiorno Rising Crust supreme pizza. It was baked in our oven according to the directions. Upon biting into the pizza, I noticed that the sausage tasted a little weird but I proceeded to eat it anyway (big mistake). Both my husband and I started having intense stomach aches and diarrhea about an hour or 2 later, which lasted into the following morning. We thought it might have been just a stomach virus. But having cooked and ate the second Digiorno pizza (the same exact kind) last night, we know it was definitely from that. This time I tasted an individual piece of sausage and it had the same strange taste, so I picked them all off. Unfortunately my husband ate all of his. As a result, I did not get sick this time and he did (and is still having the repercussions from it even now this afternoon). This second pizza was cooked even longer than the first one (the edges were even a little too brown) so we know that both pizzas were cooked properly. There was obviously something wrong with the sausage used on these pizzas. We are not in any hurry to buy another one! | Symptoms: Diarrhea
