Recall details: Sara Lee Frozen Bakery announced today the recall of specific lots of select Sara Lee, Chef Pierre... and Devonshire pecan pies produced between March 4 and April 1, 2021, because the product may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
Product was distributed nationwide through food service distributors. Recalled product details are as follows and consumers who believe they have purchased recalled lot codes are urged to confirm the lot code with the place of purchase.
- Sara Lee Individually Wrapped 4-ounce Pecan Pie slices, 24-count case SKU #5117 produced on March 5, 2021, marked with lot code #C050641C and carrying unit UPC 032100051118. Individual pie slices have a printed lot code on the top of the package.
- Sara Lee Individually Wrapped 4-ounce Pecan Pie slices, 48-count case SKU #7144 produced on March 4 and March 11, 2021, marked with lot codes #C050631C and #C050701C and carrying unit UPC 032100051118. Individual pie slices have a printed lot code on the top of the package.
- Chef Pierre 10” Pre-Baked Southern Pecan Pie 36-ounce, case SKU #9273 produced on March 4, 2021, marked with lot code #C040631C and carrying unit UPC 032100092739.
- Chef Pierre 10” Pre-Baked 10-Slice Pecan Pie 36-ounce, case SKU #9375 produced on April 1, 2021, marked with lot code #C050911C and carrying unit UPC 032100093750.
- Devonshire Bake Shop 10” Pre-Baked Southern Style Pecan Pie 36-ounce, case SKU #8994 produced on April 1, 2021, marked with lot code #C040911C and carrying unit UPC 758108399877.
There have been no reports of illness or injury to date. This recall has been initiated due to the unintentional cross-contamination of raw pecans in shells with residual peanuts during agricultural transport and storage of pecans by a supplier. Immediate steps were taken to prevent recurrence.
Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is conducting this recall with the full knowledge and cooperation of the US Food and Drug Administration. Sara Lee Frozen Bakery has instructed all impacted distributors to recall and destroy all product in market. Images of the products are attached and available at saraleefrozenbakery.com
Consumers who believe they have purchased recalled lot codes are urged to confirm the lot code with the place of purchase and ask for a full refund if the UPC and lot code matches what is listed above. “Table of 4 on April 10, 2021 at 7. It was my first time, I was very excited to eat here. A friend of mine had reservations the week before and told me her and her whole party got food poisoning, but we still went. We had the king cut medium rare, salad, cream spinach, baked potato w a lot of bacon a... nd strawberry shortcake. I had stomach pains early in the morning around 6 and shortly after is when it was bad, really bad for 36 hours. Two of us got sick, tried to think what we had different from my other friends and one got the corn and the other regular potato. I should have listened to my friend but was really excited to try it, sadly this is a one and done for me now. Hope others won’t get sick and I hope they find out what it is that is making people sick. ”

“Two friends and I dined here on Sunday, May 9. We had the King Arthur, baked potato, half & half sides, fantasy cake and strawberry shortcake. The meal was great, but as soon as I got home, I felt sick with food poisoning symptoms. Flying to Dallas on an overly long, delayed flight the next day was... miserable to say the least.
Checked the other popular review site and saw a lot of other people experienced the same within the last week.
Really disappointed to see an SF institution operating under subpar conditions.. over Mother’s Day weekend, no less. ”

“My family of five ordered the King Henry cut, city cuts and kids cuts. We all had the salad, baked potatoes, creamed spinach and corn. We all had major diarrhea that night and into the next day. The GM stated they are dealing with some ongoing issues and are working with City Health officials. I wou... ld stay away until they get this fixed.
5 people got sick. Happened 3 hours after meal. Do not eat there now. ”

“We ate at there yesterday. My daughters, wife and I had stomach pain and diarrhea all day. We had English cut, City cut, and kid's prime rib dinner. Sides were creamed spinach, creamed corn, mashes potatoes, and baked potatoes. We also had tiramisu and creme brulee. ”

“Took my mother and a neighbor for a early mothers day on Wednsday May 5th at 3:00 pm. My mom ordered a Sirlion with grilled shrimp and a sweet potato and a salad. And The older women ordered a 8oz fillet minion. And her's medium well done.And was smothered in mushrooms and a baked potatoe and salad... . I had a 8oz Filet minion well done. A sweet potato with marshmallows. And had a salad too. My steak was well done. But I noticed the meat was really tough and around it was very crusty. I kept saying my meat taste funny. But when I got home I got really sick. I was nausea going so bad. I started throwing up and had diarrhea really bad. My stomach was hurting so bad. I was the only one who got sick off of a steak. We all had the salad and 2 of us had the sweet potatoe. It was my steak that didn't look like a 8 oz fillet. the meat must have been spoiled. I have never gotten sick from eating their before. ”
