Rotisserie Chicken Illness Saga - Whole Foods Market, Newton Massachusetts

8 years ago reported by user-ynkjk324 business

Whole Foods Market, Walnut Street, Newton, MA, United States

916 Walnut Street, Newton, 02461 Massachusetts, United States

Circa March 20th, I bought a "2 for $14" rotisserie chicken "deal" at Whole Foods. I ate a small amount and had some diarrhea, but didn't think anything of it. The next day, I consumed more for lunch and, within 2 hours became, weak, dizzy, and had severe diarrhea. This continued for several days, so i went to an Urgent Clinic ( for Beth israel Hospital in
Boston) and was told that I had a stomach bug. I then traveled to New York for a trip abroad, but was increasingly sick. Before departure, I was treated in a NY Minute clinic for dehydration and infection ( Saline drip and Cipro prescribed). After arriving in London the next day, I continued to get sicker ( more dehydrated/dizzy/severe diarrhea) and went to St. Thomas Hospital Emergency Room. Told that I probably has food poisoning and dehydration that would pass in a few day. I was Very sick while in London. When I returned to NY on April 1st I was so dehydrated that I was dizzy/weak upon standing/walking and continued to have severe diarrhea. Saw a GP, who discontinued the Cipro and referred me to a gastroenterologist. Had a CT scan and colonoscopy. C-Diff was suspected and treated. Bed ridden ( from weakness/diarrhea) until April 6th, then was able to return home to Boston. Dehydration symptoms continued until mid-April! Advised Whole Foods asst. manager who said that the chicken came from their "regional" center and they would be in touch to get all of the details as they "take these matters very seriously." I never heard from them !!! Sick almost a month !!! Quite scary and caused me to miss several weeks of work! No more Whole Foods rotisserie chicken for me! | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Gas, Dehydration, Dizziness, Weakness
