MSG Overload, Wrong Order - Wok & Roll | Chinese Restaurant, Charleston West Virginia

3 years ago reported by user-mbvk5296 business

Wok & Roll | Chinese Restaurant, Patrick Street, Charleston, WV, USA

200 Patrick Street, Charleston, 25387 West Virginia, United States

A few weeks ago we ordered dinner from this location for the first time. We ordered a variety of things, including General Tso's tofu and sugar donuts. On the ride home I took a bite of one of the sugar donuts out of the bag and immediately gagged. It was covered in what I assumed was salt. I looked at the box and it was filled with MSG crystals, the long clear shards that tastes like salt, and our entire donut box was filled with it. We called and reported it and they asked us to bring it back and they would make us a new order.

When I got home I found out that my general tso's tofu was actually General Tso's chicken, decided to eat it anyways after having already gone back to the shop. This was around 10 at night. At 2 a.m. I woke up to Violent vomiting and diarrhea. It lasted for several hours and the entire next day I was physically ill and exhausted. I have never experienced food poisoning on this level, and it was clear that whatever was going on in that kitchen was both unsanitary and unlabeled or unregulated | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting
