A salmonella outbreak at Madre Oaxacan Restaurant in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles, has resulted in 44 reported cases of illness. The origin of the outbreak remains unclear, according to health officials.The restaurant was temporarily closed on September 18th following the outbreak. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health inspected the establishment and issued a "C" grade due to multiple health code violations. A lawsuit has been filed by a diner who claims his chicken mole dish caused his illness.
