My spouse ate the food at the resort's buffet and restaurant. I restricted my eating and stuck with a little bread and coffee. The night before we left he fell ill. He could not get out of bed the morning after. He vomited. He had headaches, flu like symptoms and fever. Hopefully we flew first class so the flight crew was very attentive to us. His diagnosis was a bacterial infection caused by Listeria. This bacteria grows in meats, fish, vegetables and poultry that is not refrigerated and maintained properly.
