C. difficile is transmitted through contaminated food from an infected person. You can also get it from taking certain antibiotics, which she has not taken any. The evening prior to this, my stomach was making all kinds of strange noises. At that time, I didn't feel that bad. As a result, my mother has been severely sick for several days, will now have a huge medical bill, and I've lost two days work caring for her 24 hours a day.
