The resort itself was really nice and it was until I got ill special time with my boyfriend, so it does make me sad bringing myself to write this. The food in the hotel we stayed at wasn't great from the offset, it was quite greasy and
the hygiene was very questionable. Lots of food left sitting out at buffets. Hot food was served luke warm and salads and stuff was left out in hot temperatures and uncovered attracting insects and flies. One night I ate some fish in sauce at the buffet and after taking one mouthful I noticed it had a funny taste and texture. Fast forward 24 hours I began experiencing crippling tummy pains, sickness and fever. When I got home I had to go straight to the hospital, here I was kept in for a week and diagnosed with Infective Acute gastroenteritis, colitis and inflamed bowel. The doctor said this is normally caused by nasty strains of bacteria/pathogens found in foods abroad and given the time frame I will have contracted it during my stay in the DM. Fast forward 5 weeks and I am still not well and its safe to say I wont be returning to the DM ever

I went on vacation with my friends to celebrate their birthdays on 11/9/17, to Punta Cana, DR. Upon our arrival to the hotel we were greeted with drinks in the lobby and shortly after putting our bags in our room we went to dinner at the Hibachi
Restaurant at the hotel. Immediately after eating dinner I got extremely sick. I was sweating, nauseated, vomiting, and I had diarrhea. I felt like I was going to die. My friends called the front desk and reported my conditions to the hotel staff, but all they insisted was that I go to the infirmary which would cost me anywhere from $300 to $600 American Dollars. I was provided with Pepto-Bismol and given bottled ginger ale and water from my friends. That did help some, but I still wasn’t at a hundred percent. I was scared to drink and eat anything from the hotel the rest of my stay. Now, that I think about it, it’s only by the Grace of God that I’m still alive.

My husband and I visited the Bahia Principe Ambar resort in Punta Cana from 5/19-5/25/19. I am a healthy 42 year old woman, yet I became extremely ill with crippling diarrhea and very dehydrated. The severe diarrhea lasted over 16 days and I lost 15 lbs. Once
I returned to the States, the ER doctor ordered a stool culture, however results were negative. I have never been so sick and weak in my life, and wish I knew what caused me to become so ill.

My husband and I vacationed at Luxury Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. After drinking a bottle of vodka from our mini bar I became severely ill the next day with stomach cramps, diarrhea, dehydration headaches and chills. GI problems lasted 2-3 weeks, I was the only one

with dehydration, fast, labored breathing. Low blood pressure. andmitted anlmist sent to ICU but blood pressure recovered after 5 bags IV fluids. Acute sepsis. Was hospitalized 11 days. Bill $275,000.00 thank God for insurance. Out of work 30 days.
