- Jule’s Cashew Brie (Classic). UPC: 860388001507 - all expiration dates
- Jule’s Truffle Cashew Brie. UPC: 860388001514 - all expiration dates
- Jule’s Black Garlic Cashew Brie. UPC: 860388001552 - all expiration dates
- Jule’s Artichoke Spinach Dip. UPC: 860388001569 - all expiration dates
- Jule’s Vegan Ranch Dressing. UPC: 860388001521 - all expiration dates
To date, FDA has preliminary confirmation of Salmonella in brie products containing cashews. We are working with the FDA to isolate the source of the pathogen in samples which were collected by the California Department of Public Health. Jule's Foods is issuing this recall in connection with a Salmonella outbreak under investigation by the FDA and CDC.
Products were distributed to primarily independently owned grocery stores in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas as well as direct to consumer. Jule’s Foods Brie products are 6 ounces and wrapped in white cheese paper. A full list of stores is available at www.JulesFoods.net.
Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis. The most common symptoms of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating a contaminated product. Most people recover without treatment. In rare circumstances, infection can produce more severe illness and require hospitalization. Older adults, infants, and persons with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop a severe illness. Individuals concerned about an illness should contact their health care provider.
Production of these products has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the problem.
Please do not consume the product and immediately dispose of the product or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“I went on 04/11/21 and had 10 chicken wings, 5 mild, and 5 no sauce for my son. I also got a side of fries and celery. I left the restaurant after about 45 minutes and started feeling gassy and extremely full. The next day, today 04/12/2021, I feel worse. I am nauseated, bloated, have thrown up mult... iple times, have diarrhea, I can not eat anything. I have thrown my left overs away and I am thinking of cutting the chicken open and seeing if it's even completely cooked. This is horrible. Then I get online to write a review and I see that they have this issue often, of making people sick. ”

“The CDC and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) are currently investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to raw ground turkey. As of April 12, 2021, 28 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Hadar have been rep... orted from 12 states (AZ, CT, IN, MA, ME, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, VA). 2 people have been hospitalized and no deaths were reported.
The following products are linked to salmonella infections:
- Nature’s Promise (94% lean 6% fat) – 1 lb packages with dates 1/1, 1/3, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/10
- Wegmans (94% lean 6% fat) – 1 lb and 3 lb packages with dates 1/3, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/10
- Plainville Farms (93% lean 7% fat) – 1 lb packages with dates 1/10
These products have the establishment number “P-244” inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection. They were made on December 18-29, 2020, and were sold nationwide.
Investigators are working to determine if additional turkey products are linked to illnesses.
CDC advises consumers to check their freezers for the products and throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Also recommends washing your hands with soap and water after handling the products, and wash items and surfaces that may have touched the products using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.

“Went here last night (11:30pm) on way home from work for a quick bite. Ordered two double-stacks only pickles and cheese. Felt nauseous about 1hr after consumption but ended up going to sleep. Was woken up at 6am following morning with loud gurgling sounds from stomach and strong urge to poop. Barel... y made it down the hall to bathroom. Explosive non-stop diarrhea and cramping followed and didn’t quit for 20 minutes straight! Was getting scared I was becoming dehydrated I lost so much fluid so fast.....Still not feeling great 1hr after, as I write this report.... ”

“Me and 2 other co-workers ordered here on Monday, 4/19/21, and all three of us have been sick. My particular symptoms started around 3 PM in the afternoon. We ate lunch around 12 PM. I had stomach cramps and diarrhea that lasted all through the night. One of my co-workers was vomiting and diarrhea a... ll night and got dehydrated. She developed a rash all over head and chest the next day. She is in Urgent care right now trying to find out about the rash. The other co-worker also had stomach cramps and diarrhea. We all had tacos, and Quesalupa. ”
