Back Country Cuisine Bolognaise products recalled due to undeclared allergen

Back Country Foods Limited is recalling specific batches of its Back Country Cuisine brand Mushroom Bolognaise and Spaghetti Bolognaise due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, egg. These products were distributed online, in retail stores, specialty outdoor stores, and supermarkets throughout New Zealand, and exported to Australia, Chile, and South Africa.The recall involves freeze-dried meals sold under the Back Country Cuisine brand. Affected products include Mushroom Bolognaise in 90g and 175g pouches, and Spaghetti Bolognaise in 90g, 175g, and 440g pouches. The best-before dates range from April 7, 2029, to September 29, 2029.
The issue was discovered during a routine check, prompting a Class II recall initiated on October 10, 2025. No other Back Country Cuisine products are affected by this recall.
