Recall details: Rochelle, IL. (July 15, 2021) - BrightFarms today initiated a voluntary recall of packaged salad greens produced in its Rochelle, Illinois (Ogle County) greenhouse farm sold in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Indiana because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected BrightFarms-branded products were sold by the following retailers:

- Illinois: Mariano's Fresh Markets, Walmart (select stores), Strack Van Till, Sullivan's Foods, Caputo's, Jewel-Osco
- Wisconsin: Pick 'n Save, Metro Market, Copps, Tadych’s, Walmart (select stores)
- Iowa: Walmart (select stores)
- Indiana: Strack Van Till

Additional retailers may be affected. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis The recall includes the below salad products packaged in clear, plastic clamshells with “best by” dates through 7/29/2021:

- BrightFarms NutrigreensTM (3 oz. package)
- BrightFarms Butter Crisp TM (4 oz. Package)
- BrightFarms Harvest Crunch® (4 oz. package)
- BrightFarms Mighty Romaine TM (4 oz. and 8 oz. package)
- BrightFarms 50/50 Spring & Spinach (4 oz. package)
- BrightFarms Spring Crunch (4 oz. package)
- BrightFarms Spring Mix (4 oz. and 8 oz. package)
- BrightFarms Sunny Crunch ® (4 oz. and 8 oz. package)

in-house brand and it claims to be lactose free it’s merely just a tag. If you grab a milk carton of lactose, free milk if it looks like it’s bloated imagine that your stomach it’s gonna happen. Do not buy these products if I were you switch to rice, milk, or silk almond milk, but don’t buy it in that store. My advice go to Whole Foods, or along the lines of Kroger. Anything under those two even Walmart I wouldn’t even go there. Not being political. On a serious note, we need to start watching the cameras on the food more than we are on theft. The recalled product is the Family Size Garden Salad, packaged in a 17oz flexible plastic combo 32 oz clamshell. The batch in question is marked with the sell-through date of 04/07/24 and the lot number TFSW090B. The UPC code for the product is 030223039167. A total of 150 units have been recalled.

Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction; and do not serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products. We recommend that you return the product to the store where it was purchased.
