FDA announced the recall of 316,980 pouches of several ready-to-eat Catalina Crunch cereal and snack mix packages by Catalina Snacks due to the presence of foreign objects (metal). These products were distributed in NY, CA, CO, IA, KY, TX, AZ, GA, FL, MD, IN, PA, IL, OR, NJ, OK, VA, NV, NH, WI, CT, and by Online sales.
The recalled products are:

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 488 pounds of meat and poultry sfihas products by WOW Frozen Food LLC because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. These products were shipped to retail locations in Florida and sold through Instagram. There have been no... See More confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
The recalled products are:
- 260-g. pouch bag containing 5 pieces of “WOW SFIHAS CALABRESA Brazilian Kielbasa.”
- 260-g. pouch bag containing 5 pieces of “WOW SFIHAS QUEIJO BACON Cheese with Bacon.”
- 260-g. pouch bag containing 5 pieces of “WOW SFIHAS FRANGO CATUPIRY Cream Cheese Chicken.”
- 260-g. pouch bag containing 5 pieces of “WOW SFIHAS CARNE Beef.”
These products were produced on various dates since October 2022.
The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities when various frozen sfihas meat and poultry products that did not have the USDA mark of inspection were observed at a retail location. Upon further investigation, FSIS determined that the products were not produced in an FSIS-inspected establishment.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in retailers and consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

See More commercial sale and was not part of the food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of this product.
The recalled product is:
- Bulk boxes containing 75 pieces of “HOYO Beef Sambusa Ground Beef Pastry with Onions and Spices” and lot code N341-S and N333-S.
This product was produced on Dec. 30, 2022, and Feb. 21, 2023 and bears establishment number “EST. 47424” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that it received a report from a school that food handlers found thin, wire-like metal on the outside of the product during preparation. The material was not reported to be embedded in the product.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in school freezers. Schools are urged not to serve this product. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
