Recall notice

Fricasa Frozen Raw Beef Products - recall due to not being inspected in the USA

1 year ago source fsis.usda.gov

Carlin, 89822 Nevada, United States

South American Meat Inc., also known as 5Gogi LLC, is recalling approximately 20,111 pounds of various frozen raw beef products that were not presented for import reinspection upon entry into the United States, according to an announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on June 4, 2024. These items were shipped to distributors, restaurants, retailers, and institutions in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington.

The recalled products include various weight cardboard cases of different beef cuts, all labeled as "Frigorífico Casa Blanca S.A." with individual case codes and displaying "FRICASA". The products bear the Uruguay establishment number "58" printed inside the Uruguay inspection mark located on the shipping box and vacuum-sealed product packaging. To view all the recalled products and codes, please visit the link below.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’, distributors’, restaurants’, retailers’, or institutions’ freezers. Any individual or entities who have purchased these products are urged not to consume or serve them.

These products should be returned to the place of purchase. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enable better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
