Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall of several shredded cheese products due to potential metal fragment contamination from supplier raw materials. The affected products were distributed across multiple states in the United States, including AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and Puerto Rico.AFFECTED PRODUCTS:

The issue was identified through supplier notifications, leading to a Class II recall initiated on October 3, 2025. The classification was confirmed on December 1, 2025. The recall is ongoing, with notifications sent via email, fax, letter, and other methods.

lets see: aldi, schnucks, publix, great value, and good&gather, and more. just like usual! would we rather pay $3 less, and get metal fragments in our cheese, or pay $3 more, and significantly reduce the risk of such contamination? like i always say, "the high cost of low price" - you get what you pay for.
