Alineur Culinaire GmbH & Co. KG is recalling its Kober Meersalzkäse | Sylter Meersalz cheese due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The cheese was distributed between March 7 and March 21, 2024. The cheese was sold in Citti markets in Kiel, Flensburg, Lübeck, and in Famila markets in the Northeast region. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection of the cheese. As a health risk cannot be ruled out, the company has decided to recall all cheese distributed during the specified period.The recalled product is:

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause a serious infection known as listeriosis. This bacterium is Gram-positive, rod-shaped, and can move using flagella. It is known for its ability to survive and even grow in conditions that are typically unfavorable for many other pathogens, such as cold temperatures and salty environments.
