L'Épicurien Raclette de Savoie Cheese recalled due to E. Coli

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) and Quebec-based company L'Épicurien (located at 1292, avenue Maguire, in Quebec City) have issued a warning against the consumption of a specific cheese product due to potential E. coli contamination. The operator is voluntarily recalling the product and has agreed with MAPAQ to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. As of now, no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this product have been reported. The product was offered for sale until February 21, 2025, and only at the establishment designated above. It was arranged in slices on a gold cardboard and vacuum-packed in a clear plastic pouch.The product mentioned down below has been misidentified. Due to a labeling error, Raclette de Scey cheese was marketed under the name "Raclette de Savoie". Please note that Raclette de Savoie cheese is not subject to any recall.
This warning is related to a food recall by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency involving Morbier de Scey and Raclette de Scey Raclette cheeses originating from France and distributed in several establishments across Canada.
The product in question is:
- The "Savoie Raclette" cheese
- Sold in 150g units until February 21, 2025.
- The cheese was packaged in clear plastic pouches and sold refrigerated.
- Due to a labeling error, the product was incorrectly marketed as "Raclette de Savoie".
Consumers are advised to not consume the product and to return it to where they purchased it.
