Update February 3rd, 2026:The FDA has updated this recall to clarify that the issue involved a wrong product in the container. The product was labeled as Meal Simple Red Lentil Dal Soup but contained Meal Simple Turkey & Wild Rice Soup, which includes undeclared milk. Also, the recall has now been classified as Class II.
No other details of the recall have changed at this time.

December 10th, 2025:
Bakkavor USA of Charlotte, North Carolina, is initiating a recall of 16-ounce Meal Simple brand Red Lentil Dal Soup, BEST BY 1/11/2026, as it contains undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product. The recalled product was distributed from 11/3/2025 to 12/8/2025 and available for purchase in H-E-B retail stores located in Texas.
The product is packaged in clear plastic cups with BEST BY 1/11/2026 printed on the bottom of the cup.
The recall was initiated after a consumer notified the firm that the product in the container labelled as Meal Simple Red Lentil Dal Soup was a poultry and rice soup. After an internal investigation, it was discovered that Meal Simple Turkey & Wild Rice Soup contains milk as an ingredient. The Meal Simple Red Lentil Dal Soup does not include milk as an ingredient, nor does it declare milk on the label. The root cause investigation is ongoing.
