Norm Bloom & Son Oysters has initiated a recall of certain oysters due to potential norovirus contamination. The recall was advised by the FDA and affects restaurants and retailers. The oysters were distributed to various states including Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Texas.The product recalled is the oysters harvested by Norm Bloom and Son, identified by CT-069-SS, AQ, from Westport, CT, lot 207, with a harvest date of 2/20/2024.
Norovirus can cause severe illness, especially in people with compromised immune systems. Consumers should not eat the potentially contaminated oysters.
