S&M Shellfish recalled due to Norovirus

S&M Shellfish Co. has issued an urgent recall for its Fanny Bay, Buckley Bay, and Royal Miyagi Oysters due to multiple confirmed illnesses from Norovirus contamination. The product has been distributed to retailers throughout the US.The recalled oysters are:
- Identified by the information printed on the shellfish tag.
- The original harvesters/producers are Pacific Northwest Shellfish and Union Bay Seafood
- With certification numbers BC 740 SP and BC 6001 SP.
- The dates of harvest range from 12/01/24 to 12/09/24.
- The locations of harvest are various areas in British Columbia.
The company urges consumers to stop consumption immediately and return the product to S&M Shellfish Co. or label it as not safe for consumption.
