Sea Win Frozen Half Shell Oysters recalled due to Norovirus

####Update March 26th 2025The FDA has issued an update to this Safety Alert following a related recall by Daihung Mulsan Co., Ltd. (KR 7 SP) from the Republic of Korea (ROK). This recall now includes additional harvest dates for certain frozen half-shell oysters that may be contaminated with norovirus. The recalled oysters were sent to Sea Win, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, and may have been further distributed. This action follows a norovirus outbreak in California. The FDA will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
The voluntary recall covers:
- Oysters processed by KR-7-SP in ROK
- Harvested from Designated Area II
- Harvested on these newly added dates: January 31, 2024; February 1, 2024; and February 2, 2024.
- These are in addition to the previously recalled batches harvested on January 30, 2025, and February 4, 2025.

Sea Win, Inc., a Los Angeles-based company, is recalling its Frozen Half Shell Oysters due to potential norovirus contamination. The product, harvested in South Korea on January 30 and February 4, was distributed in California, with 650 cases affected. The oysters were distributed to wholesalers in California and may have reached other states. The recall was initiated after the California Department of Public Health linked the product to multiple illnesses.

Consumers are advised to not consume it and to return it to where they purchased it.
