1 year ago source fsai.ie

Recall notice

Ireland

The FSAI announced the recall of Smoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet and Unsmoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet due to incorrect boiling instructions on the label. The implicated ham fillets were sold in Lidl stores in Ireland.

Recalled products:
- Smoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet. Pack size: 3kg. Approval number: IE 528 EC. All use-by dates with barcode 4056489711575
- Unsmoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet. pack size: 3kg. Approval number: IE 528 EC. All use-by dates with barcode 4056489711568

The correct instructions for boiling are:
Place fillet in a large saucepan of water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes per 500g, plus an additional 30 minutes. Remove fillet from the water, and allow to stand for 10 minutes before carving. Ensure food is piping hot and cooked throughout before serving.

In case you experience harm from this product, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
