Airport BK Beef Illness - Burger King, El Prat de Llobregat Catalonia

The following are the details of the food poisoning event that made me extremely ill and am still recovering from:-

- I was due to fly out from Barcelona La Pratt Airport on the 3/11/2024, to Dublin.
- Due to flash floods the Flight was delayed and having had no food all day was hungry so I decided to get a Burger King beef burger, chips and bottle of water in the airport. Details of this purchase in the amount of €23.35 are on my credit card, food consumed around 8 pm.
- Got home at about 3 am on 4/11/2024 and went to bed. On Monday morning at about 9 am I was not feeling great, had pains all over and had no appetite but put it down to being tired after the journey. All of Monday I didn't feel well so I stayed at home and rested all day. I ate a small amount and drank water
- On the Tuesday 5/11/2024 I felt very unwell and had cramps, diarrohea, nausea and was vomiting.
- Wednesday 6/11/2024 I felt worse and spent most of the time in the bathroom. I got an appointment with my GP and I explained my symptoms to him. He did tests, took samples and sent to the laboratory for testing. I was advised on 7/11/2024 that indeed it was meat food poisoning.
- At this stage I was very ill and had not eaten since the previous Monday. I was advised to try to drink as much as possible and given the name of a re-hydration supplement to add to the water.
- From 7/11/2024 to 11/11/2024 I did not eat and stayed in my room/bathroom as the symptoms continued to cause me great distress. on the Tuesday 11/11/2024 I was referred to A&E as my bloods were of concern and when I attended the - Hospital they treated me and I began to feel better on Thursday 13/11/2024, although still weak and light headed.
- Today 14/11/2024 I am on the Road to Recovery, have an appetite and able to drink sufficient.
- I am very upset that this happened to me after spending a lovely few days in the City of Barcelona. Not only was I so sick and lost a lot of weight, I could not work, care for my elderly parents or care for myself. I had to ask family and friends to help me. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Cramps, Muscle Pain
