Shrimp Causes Sickness - Doc's Seafood and Steaks, Corpus Christi Texas

2 years ago reported by user-dnkzp911 business

Doc's Seafood and Steaks, South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, TX, USA

13309 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, 78418 Texas, United States

First, I want to say that we adore this place! It's always our last meal of a beach trip to Port Aransas and we've never had a bad experience.

This past Sunday, May 28, 2023 was no different and my family I enjoyed a delicious meal before heading back home. However, the two of us who ate shrimp got violently sick starting early the next morning. They felt horrible all day and were unable to keep anything on their stomach, even water or ginger ale. I was concerned about dehydration but the symptoms finally eased later that night and they were able to sip on Sprite and keep it down.

The symptoms lasted about 15 hours and they are fine today. We tried to think of anything else that could have caused this, but the shrimp was the only thing they had eaten in common. Neither of the other two of us had any symptoms, suggesting it wasn't a stomach bug which would have most likely infected all of us. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dehydration
