ER Visit After Burger - Five Guys, Quakertown Pennsylvania

4 years ago reported by user-vntdy148 business

Five Guys, South West End Boulevard, Quakertown, PA, USA

254 South West End Boulevard, Quakertown, 18951 Pennsylvania, United States

Ate there December 14th my Burger was cold I ate it anyway and wound up in the emergency room December 24... I'm finally getting out of the hospital tomorrow December 28... They tested a sample of my stool which looked like green water and it showed I have Campylobacter Infection which is caused by eating raw or undercooked beef or chicken... I contacted my local health department and a lawyer... Outrageously priced food that almost killed me and ruined my Christmas... $17.00 for a burger, fries, and drink... Never eating there again and you shouldn't either if you know what's good for you.. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting

10 days from meal to illness seems like a long time to be blaming them. Expensive, agreed. To blame? Not sure about that.

Hi - thanks for your comment. Actually, there are some pathogens in which the onset of symptoms is not immediate and can show up later. In this particular case, Campylobacter, usually starts 2 to 5 days after the person ingests the contaminated food and lasts about one week under regular conditions, but if the user needed a trip to the ER that means their case got more complicated which means their case is plausible.
